The Taupes By Juvia’s

💚💚💚💚

A sleek and beautiful hand picked taupes to create beautiful looks.”

That is what it says on the back of the packaging. The Taupes was released last year, along with a bunch of other 6 pan palettes. There were The Nudes, The Berries, The Chocolates, The Violets, The Sweet Pinks, and The Mauves. They are all still available and cost $14.00 each.

What is taupe? When you have a perfect taupe, you cannot tell if it is gray or brown. All I know is that when I saw this cool toned palette I had to have it. If my memory serves me right, the palette was the worst reviewed of the group. I can understand why. If you are a Juvia’s Place fan, you probably like vivid colors. This palette is definitely not that….but I love it.

Three shimmers and three mattes make this palette very user friendly. What do I mean by that? When I am getting ready for work at 5:30 in the morning, I am not looking for a complicated look. A matte, a shimmer and I am good to go. Even then I am 5 minutes late (sorry Ryhana if you are reading this 😏.) The mattes, however do have to be packed on, and even than they are nowhere near what I would call vibrant. Not that this palette is supposed to be vibrant. They are just not that pigmented, put it that way. For me however, it is perfection and has become one of my go to palettes.

Unfortunately the names of the shades are not on the actual package. I am going to assume that at one time there was one of those plastic covers with the shade names that has since gone to plastic cover heaven. So yeah. I have no shade names, but that second shimmer on the top is one of the most beautiful shimmers in my collection and that is saying something, believe me.

How does this palette compare to That’s Taupe by Colourpop? I have to still test that one, but since this palette is not ready to fall apart at any moment, I would have to say that it has a head start. See my post on Colourpop packaging here https://myeyeshadowallergy.com/colourpop-the-good-the-bad-and-the-packaging/

I hate when there are no shade names on the package. Do you guys really keep the plastic thing? Anyway, the second shimmer from the top. This picture does not do it any justice. There are so many colors reflecting from it……so pretty!

Finally, I can wear every single shade from this palette comfortably. I do not even know it is there. If you are someone like me, who is basically allergic to eyeshadow (but you love it) than you can appreciate a palette like this. As I have said before, everyone is different. Just because I have no reaction to something does not mean you won’t. However, if you are looking for something to experiment with, I would definitely give this a try.

What Juvia’s place palettes do you like? Have you tried this one?
