My Favorite Fall Eyeshadow Palettes

The fall season is upon us, and with that comes the fall makeup. Are you someone who switches out their makeup for the season? I never was, but how things have changed! I always switched everything else…bags, acc…etc. so when I got into makeup it stood to reason I would change it up to😊

Of course you can wear whatever you want, whenever you want. That goes without saying. So what do I mean by fall makeup? Well, I’m really talking about eyeshadow palettes. When I think fall, I think rusty tones…mustard yellow…golds…oranges…greens, and dark purples. Honestly, most palettes qualify as “fall” palettes as you find these colors in 90% of them, at least to a point. With that said, here are my top 10 picks for the fall. (Choosing from palettes that are still available.)

These are in no particular order, they are all a little different, so it depends on what you like. I personally did not have any reactions to these palettes.

1. Lil Ray of Sunshine by Colourpop

Price – $14.00

You will like it if – You like mattes…simple fall golds.

This was Colourpop’s first all matte palette, and in my opinion, one of their best matte formulas. The Colourpop formula is always pretty good, but every once in a while they come out with a formula that’s just a little better. This is one of them. The sunflower packaging is very pretty (sunflowers are one of my favorites)🌻. The shades all blend together beautifully. It’s warm, but not too warm. You could throw a shimmer over it, but it’s perfect by itself. Great fall palette.

2. Tartelette Lil Toasted by Tarte

Price – $29.00

You will like it if – You like bronzy shades and small palettes.

Another “lil” palette…that was not on purpose. This one is called “lil” because there is a larger version. Originally this was part of a holiday collection. It included this palette, lil in bloom, and lil juicy, although there was no big juicy at the time. (The set is still available on Tarte’s website.) If you have Tartelette Toasted you probably don’t need this one. The colors are not the same, but are very similar. I think this palette is beautiful if you like bronzy golds, and I really like the Tarte formula.

3. Naked Heat by Urban Decay

Price – $54.00

You will like it if – You like the Naked Palettes. You like warm shades ( browns and oranges). You are looking for a bigger palette.

I don’t care what anyone says. I don’t care who declutters what. I like the Naked palettes. I don’t have them all, but the ones that I do have I’m happy with, and this is no exception. Naked Heat is a beautiful warm toned palette. It is similar to Toasted, but a little different. There is some more variety with this palette. With that said, I’m not sure I would pay $54.00 for this palette. The Naked Palettes go on sale quite often, and quite randomly. If you can get it on sale, it’s definitely worth picking up.

4. Goddess By Alter Ego

Price – $16.00

You will like it if – You like green with your browns and golds. You are ok with a dupe.

If you have never heard of Alter Ego, they make dupe palettes. I mean shade for shade dupes. I am not sure how they get away with this, I can only assume eyeshadow palettes, like drugs, have patterns that expire. Who knows. What I do know is that this company makes high quality shadows for a fraction of the price. If you are someone that prefers the original, I don’t think you will be happy with this. If you are someone that doesn’t care, I would give this brand a try.

Goddess is a dupe of the Natasha Denona Gold Palette, which I believe has been discontinued. Not sure what will happen to Goddess, but I know when ABH discontinued Sultry, Alter Ego kept selling Temptress. (The Sultry dupe).

I never owned Gold, but Goddess is a beautiful palette, with a great formula. For me, the mattes in this palette are better than the shimmers, but this is an all around great palette.

5. Gemini by Melt Cosmetics

Price – $58.00

You will like it if – You like greens with your browns and golds, you are not into dupes.

Has anyone else ever gotten locked out of the melt website because you didn’t know the password? Like for the Beetlejuice launch it was “draw a door.” Anyway, for me Melt is always hit or miss. The Gemini palette though – big hit!! The packaging alone was enough for me to buy it.

The palette itself is half brown/bronze, and half green/mustard. It’s all mattes with 2 shimmers. (1 Brown and 1 Green). The shimmers are easy. The mattes are not as buttery as I usually like, but they are not hard to work with. This palette is actually one of my favorites in my whole collection, I’m just drawn to it. It is on the pricey side, but if you like warm browns, you could get a lot of use out of it.

6. Optimistic AF by BH Cosmetics

Price – $15.00

You will like it if – You like bright oranges and yellows

I just saw Theresa is Dead’s most embarrassing eyeshadow palettes, and this collection was on it (not necessarily this palette) but this collection. I guess I have no shameπŸ˜‚. If you have never seen Theresa is dead on YouTube, I would highly recommend her channel. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable about makeup, she is so funny. Like she literally makes me laugh out loud. About makeup. It’s great.

As far as the palette goes, I cannot say that I am really into bright colors. However, I have to say, this palette is fun, and I always love doing looks with it. Yes you got the bronze shades, but you also get bright oranges and yellows. BH Cosmetics always has a pretty good eyeshadow formula. I don’t think this is the best, but it’s really good. This one though, it’s all about the color story. If you like bright colors, I would get this one.

7. Smitten in Switzerland by BH Cosmetics

Price – $17.00

You will like it if – You are not into really bright shadows. You want a little more variety.

Smitten in Switzerland is part of BH Cosmetics travel series, and it has become one of my favorite palettes. I mean Mt. Pilatus alone is enough reason to buy this palette. I hadn’t used it enough when I did my BH Cosmetics ranking video. I really like it now. I like, like it. Forget that. I’m in love. I am ready to commit.

It doesn’t have those real bronzy tones. It does have a rich brown, a burnt orange, a gorgeous hunter green, a beautiful maroon, and a few nice neutral shades. These mattes are buttery soft. The shimmers. OMG. They are perfect. There’s blue, green, gray, taupe, deep pink….all of them are amazing. I would recommend this palette to anyone. If you open this palette, you see a hot cup of something sitting on the balcony of your log cabin overlooking the mountains, and you are in a sweater….it screams fall.

8. Opposites Attract by Elf

Price – $14.00

You will like it if – You want warm and cool tones

How Elf is able to do what it does for the price will go down as one of the great mysteries of life. I cannot say that I have had luck with all of Elf’s products, but I usually enjoy the 18 pan palettes. My favorite is Earth and Ocean.

However, I chose this palette for the fall because the left side is autumn, and the right side is Halloween. On the left side you have your golds and bronzy orange colors. On the right you have more cool toned browns, but you also have some greens and purples. It just reminds me of some Halloween palettes I have seen.

Now with that said, the matte purple and green are not the best formula. They are also not the worst…(these are not easy colors to formulate).

With Elf, the packaging always is what it is…but I don’t mind. If you are an Elf fan, I think you will like this for the fall.

9. The Nomad by Juvia’s Place

Price – $15.00

You will like it if – You like overall earth tones…you prefer matte to shimmers

You already know that I am a big fan of Juvia’s Place. Factor in that this palette is actually described as ” Falls perfect color spectrum,” and you knew it had to be on this list.

The Juvia’s Place formula is absolutely amazing. You have 6 mattes, a warm brown, a rusty brown, a rich brown, a gold a dark green. The one thing I am not crazy about is Fire Bush, which is a matte glitter. That’s just personal preference, as I do not like matte glitters. You than have two shimmers, Mongoose and Crocodile. Both are nice, but Mongoose (the middle shade) is STUNNING! Packaging is beautiful as always.

10. Untamed by Sigma

Price – $49.00

You will like it if – You like your golds and greens with a side of mauve.

There are a few things you can count on in this life. Death, taxes, and if I have a best of anything palette blog, Sigma will be on it.

If you like mauves in the fall, than this palette is for you. Besides forest greens, bronzy browns, and siennas there are some really pretty mauve tones in this one. Fierce is just a gorgeous amethyst shimmer. Paired with Moxie and Instinct, it’s one of my favorite pink looks, and perfect for the fall.

And there you have it, my favorite fall palettes…I would love to hear about your favorite fall palettesπŸπŸ‚πŸŽƒ

And with that, I am taking a short break from this blog as I attempt Vlogtober over on YouTube, or my version…31 Days in the Attic. If you like Halloween Makeup, Stories…or fall stuff in general…I hope that you will join me on my channel…Kimmie’s Attic. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLcA5aYVuYTVkDjApvVau5w.

Otherwise, I will see you back in November with some more palettes!

Until than, take care of yourselves….and have a very Happy and Safe Halloween!!!
