Ambiance

💚💚💚💚

“The mood, character, quality, tone or atmosphere on an environment.”

That is the definition of Ambiance, which also happens to be the name of the latest palette from Sigma. The mood, character, quality and atmosphere of this palette is perfection.

Once again, I am posting about a palette without a post about the brand. Trust me, a full post on Sigma is coming. It has become my favorite brand for brushes, and close to my favorite for palettes. For now let’s talk Ambiance.

There are two ways of looking at this. You could say “Sigma released another warm toned neutral palette…blah” or you could say “Sigma released another warm toned neutral palette….excitement.” Go with the second option. You should be excited. Even if you are so/so on neutral palettes. Even if you are not crazy about warm shades. (If you do like those two things you should be really, really excited.) There is just something so special about this palette.

If you are easily influenced by influencers, you may not have picked this one up. I knew I wanted this palette right away, but I am easily influenced by influencers. After hearing “Do you really need another warm toned palette?” multiple times, I decided I didn’t. Then, I saw Samantha March with it (one of my favorite influencers) and decided that I did. Need it. Immediately. I feel the need to point out that I saw a few beauty youtubers change their mind about this palette when they actually reviewed it. Who can blame them? It’s so good.

Sigma has two kinds of palettes, their 9 pan and their 14. I have not tried the 9 pans yet, but I will say Ivy and Hazy seem to be calling my name. I’m keeping them in mind for the next sale. Ambiance is Sigma’s 5th 14 pan palette and their 4th themed with Cor-De-Rosa, Enchanted and Untamed being the other three (sorry warm neutrals, you are 14 pans but you do not get a creative theme point). I have all 4 and so far, this is my favorite.

The packaging is very similar to Untamed, except instead of black velvet , we have gold glitter. The packaging is beautiful. I think Sigma consistently knocks it out of the park with the packaging on their 14 pan palettes. Not only do you get a mirror, but you also get a dual ended brush. A Sigma dual ended brush in gold glitter. I mean even the brush is gorgeous. If you are someone that throws out brushes that come with palettes…..STOP!!! Do not do that! Sigma brushes are so good, the quality is just impeccable. They are actually my favorite brushes. You get an E38 Diffused Crease and an E54 Medium Sweeper.

Now for the color story. Normally, I prefer cool tones, but this palette has me re-thinking that. As I said, multiple times, there are 14 shades. A perfect mix of mattes, shimmers and metallics. Once again, the layout is user friendly with alternating mattes and shimmers. The only color I was just a little disappointed in was Daze, as I think that it is too light, even as a transition shade. The rest are incredible. All the mattes are buttery smooth and blend really well. No patchiness here. No repeat shades either. The shimmers and metallics are equally stunning with an equally perfect formula. Again, no repeats as all the shades have a different tone. You will get more out of the shimmers if you apply them with your finger instead of a brush. They are all beutiful, but I will pick Sunflower as a favorite.

Yes after all that about 14 shades….you will only see 13. I forgot to swatch Burnish. Just picture one more gorgeous warm tone.

It is easy to see that this palette was inspired by the sun’s light. The shades all combine to give you a gorgeous sunkissed glow. It is the perfect summer palette.

How similar is it to Urban Decay’s Naked Honey? Pretty similar. Especially the mattes. The shimmers are different. Are they different enough to have both? That’s up to you. I will swatch compare them below. You can get different looks. I only bring it up because I know that Naked Honey is also a very popular summer palette that a lot of you may already have.

Sigma is not a brand you will find everywhere. It is not available at Ulta or Sephora to the best of my knowledge. You can order from their website here https://www.sigmabeauty.com/, or you can find them in most department stores…if not at the actual store, then on line. I have purchased Sigma from Macy’s website in the past, although I have never seen it sold in the actual store. The palette cost $49.00, but remember you are getting the brush. Keep in mind Sigma runs very good sales. I have seen them go 30% and even 40% off, so be aware.

Now, my favorite part….the wearability factor. I am so happy to report that I had no problems with this palette. No issues with any of the shades. All of them were comfortable. No redness….no irritation. Perfection. For me, this is a 10/10. I have not one bad thing to say.

I’m wearing Daze as a transition shade, Daylily in the crease, Sunspot on the outer edge, Bask on the lash line, Marigold on the outer lid, Candlelight on the inner lid, Sunflower on the center lid and Firefly on the inner corner.

Let me know if you tried this palette or if you plan to. What are your favorite summer palettes?
