My system anyway. Right now I am rating palettes strictly on whether or not they give me an allergic reaction. But this process is flawed. Just because a palette does not give me a reaction, does not mean that it is a good palette. And vice versa. Recently, I have tried some palettes that have really made this apparent.
The last thing I want is for you to use a poor quality palette just because you do not have an adverse reaction to it. If there is one palette that you are not reacting too, chances are that there are more. Don’t settle for a poor quality palette…just like relationships the right one will come around.
At the same time, I don’t want to give a palette a bad review, or what seems like a bad review, because I cannot wear it. That is not really fair. There are many palettes that I think are excellent quality, but due to my nickel allergy, I just cannot use them.
Right now my rating system is as follows:
💚💚💚💚 So Comfortable. A wearable palette
💛💛💛 OK for a few hours. A little uncomfortable.
💙💙 Reaction after a few hours. Left me with some redness.
💔 Bad reaction, immediately, or soon after. Will take a week to clear up
Going forward, I will simply add the following for quality:
😄 Excellent
😊Really Good
😐Just OKs
🙁Really Not Good
When I say quality, I mean how will it wore, applied, blended out, etc. I always give a detailed description in my blog anyway.
