The Child Palette

” The Cutest in the Galaxy”

I have to disagree. The cutest in the galaxy is still Gizmo. But he does not have an eyeshadow palette. However, with the rumors of Gremlins 3 upon us, can that really be that far behind?

Why do I love this palette so much? Is it the formula? Is it the color story? Is it the packaging? Is it the fact that “the child” is my nickname given to me by my good friend Gloria? All of the above actually.

Am I a Star Wars fan? Put it this way…I feel like I might have seen parts of the first one. So, no….not exactly. But if you are, and you bought this for the packaging, you would not be disappointed. It’s adorable. Also, it’s the cardboard packaging, which when it comes to Colourpop, I feel is much better than the plastic packaging. (Most of my issues with Colourpop has been with their plastic packaging.) There is also a mirror inside, which I love and even the mirror is adorable.

Now for the actual shadows. This is a nine pan palette….4 mattes, 1 matte glitter, 3 metallics and one supershock (Colourpop’s most notable formula). I like this ratio. I can live with one matte glitter when there are four other mattes. They are easy to work with and not patchy at all. The metallics are really smooth and beautiful, especially Right Hand Mando. It’s like a green silver. Very gorgeous unique color. Precious Cargo is a supershock. Some people feel that when the supershock formula is in the palette, it is not as good as when they are purchased as singles. I do not agree with this. I think the supershock formula is pretty standard whether in palette or single form, but some shades just work better than others. This is of course true with everything.

As for the color story, another big win. Basically it’s a green and gold neutral palette. The theme is definitely green, but it’s a toned down olive green. You also get some warm brown tones in Just Like a Tatooine and Droid Protocol, and a gorgeous gold metallic with The Force. Precious Cargo just kind of pulls it all together, but this super shock is definitely just a topper shade.

The Child is a palette you could certainly get a lot of use out of, and is unique in itself with it’s “everyday greens.” All the colors work well together in the palette making it very user friendly.

This palette cost $16.00 on Colourpop’s website, but as I have said in the past, they often run sales. However, The Child is limited edition, and I have seen it go out of stock before, so if you want it you may want to pick it up sooner than later.

As far as wearability, this is always my biggest personal win (or loss), but in this case win. I am happy to report that this palette gave me no reaction and was totally comfortable. I have nothing negative to say about this palette. The force is with it.

    1. Yes…..it’s so cute. I was a big Hello Kitty fan when I was younger. I did not like the holiday release at all…thought it was just thrown together…but I think they did a nice job with this collection. I picked up the blue and the yellow palettes. They have a sale right now… you save $2 when you buy 2 palettesπŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
